Esterio segura

SEGURA is one of the best known Cuban artists with wide international acclaim. 

Part of the generation of the 1990s, his works have appeared in notable collections and outstanding biennial exhibitions across the world. Numerous publications and retrospectives on Cuban art identify him as one of the key youth artists in the history of Cuban art.  

Segura draws on diverse references for his creativity. He moves easily across a panoply of genres that range from popular pieces to conceptual ones.  

These include Afro-Cuban culture, kitsch, pop, religious iconography, art history, and philosophy or concrete contextual events.  Segura enlists whatever medium is necessary to convey his expressions. These include photography, installations, drawing, and sculpture.
